Elizabeth Peratrovich Day at Hoonah City Schools
Elizabeth Peratrovich is among the few outstanding Alaska Native persons known for advocating on behalf of all Alaska Natives for the simple right to live freely. Her contributions to the Alaska Native Civil Righs movement led to the passing of the Anti-Discrimination Act, which she spoke very eloquently to in the January 1945 Alaska Territorial Legislative Session.
