Library Overview
The HCSD Library Program provides services and opportunities for all K-12 students, faculty and staff and community members to become effective and responsible users of ideas and information.
The library program strives to create students who are information literate by developing students who have competence as active locators and users of information to solve problems and to satisfy their own curiosity. The HCSD Library program is structured to ensure that each student meets or exceeds rigorous performance and achievement standards.
The HCSD Library Program provides access to printed, non-printed, and electronic resources for students, faculty, and community members. Students utilize library resources to complete assignments, explore ideas, and to select from a wide variety of recreational reading on many topics.
The HCSD Library program reaffirms its belief in the Library Bill of Rights and the School Library Bill of Rights of the American Library Association.
